Soapstone Oil - 8oz

I've tried several soapstone conditioning products on our soapstone BBQ island, and they all seem to lighten up over time so I decided to try Soapstone Oil from Rhino Wax. It's an all natural product based on food-safe coconut and palm oils with arange oil and lemon oil that give it a fresh citrus scent that smells great.By itself, I would expect it to work as well as other food-grade oil products I've used that darken the stone immediately but fade in about a month. This time I'm pairing it with Rhino Wax's Soapstone Wax which I hope will make it last longer. Only time will tell.

Well I never take care of the stone in my house as often as I should. I decided this year I would remove the clutter, really clean and then condition the stone around the house. The Rhino brand has been easy to work with, the instructions are straightforward and simple. The cleaner and conditioner work very well together, neither product has a chemically scent even though you can see their impact on cleaning and conditioning.If you are going to take the time and really follow these steps to take care of your stone this is a good line to consider trying.

I purchased thinking we had slate but we actually have granite with travertine backsplash. After doing some research, citrus oils are not recommended for granite or travertine so looking for alternative uses. I did apply to various rocks I've cut and it does lubricate and bring out the color (see photos). Be sure you know what stone you have before applying so you don't end up with odd colors or effects.

Having ordered another product from this company, I thought I would give this one a try for my wood cutting boards. I know this is not what the company advertises it for, but I researched it, and Soapstone Oil can be very effective for cutting boards and is food safe ;) The item shipped quickly, and was packaged inside of a bag, but did have some leakage at the top of the container (pictured). For the money, this is a pretty decent size jug, and I can tell it's going to last for a while. I cleaned my cutting board with their cleaning spray, then used a large paint brush to brush on this oil. Per the instructions, I let it sit for a few minutes to soak in, then wiped the excess off. My cutting board came out beautiful! It was dark, and looked almost new again. I haven't cut anything on it, but I don't think the flavor/taste will be affected, as this had zero smell when I applied it. I recommend this to anyone looking to refresh their cutting boards, or anything wood really!

This is one of those items I wanted to try for a little while before sharing my thoughts. I have used this Rhino wax soapstone oil for the last 2 months and have nothing but positive things to say. The oil is food-safe and suitable for multiple surfaces, such as stone, wood, and marble cutting boards. It hydrates stone effectively, giving it a darker, refreshed appearance while also preventing the dry, chalky look. The oil absorbs quickly, leaving a smooth, protected surface that feels well-maintained. The mildly citrus scent, derived from natural lemon and orange oils, is pleasant but not overpowering. The application is simple: using a microfiber cloth, I wiped the oil onto the surface, allowed it to soak in, and then removed any excess. Just a small amount covered each cutting board. Given both the container size and quality ingredients, I think this product is worth trying if you want to maintain, hydrate, and protect your cutting boards or wood surfaces without using harsh chemicals.

I like that this product consists of all natural ingredients to seal my granite kitchen counter. It leaves my counter with a nice shine and with a citrus smell.The product is easy to apply, similar in consistency to mineral oil. It spreads easy and the stone slowly absorbs this oil. I tried multiple layers until my stone was fully saturated. I finished my counter with their wax product to give me counter more protection/waterproofness.This product doesn't work or last as long as synthetic sealers, but I don't have to wory about my food coming into contact with hamrful chemicals.This bottle lasts multiple applications so it's a good value for the price.Made in the USA.

This is a citrus-y scented, non-mineral, food safe oil. And while it's mainly described as a sealant for soapstone countertops (that, per manufacturer instructions, needs to be followed with the Rhino Soapstone Wax for longevity), it's also great for other kitchen uses. It works well to renew the wood handle on your good knife that *someone* keeps putting in the sink. It does have a scent, but I find that scent to fade quickly on the worn looking knife block, or even the dried out old cutting board. I waited a day to use one of the boards I oiled, and there was no weird taste on the food I cut on it, or anything like that. Comparing this to other non-mineral household/kitchen surface oils, this one is very fairly priced, and is useful for more than just one thing.

When I received this Rhino Wax Soapstone Oil, I was impressed by how effective this conditioner and sealer worked on my kitchen granite countertop.I've used other products before and tried making my countertop look less dull and shinier, but they don't last more than a week or less if I use a degreaser to wipe anything on the granite countertop.The Rhino Wax Soapstone Oil not only made my granite countertop look shiny again, but it also lasted more than 2 weeks and going strong still looking beautiful and conditioned on the surface of my kitchen countertop, and even after using degreaser to wipe greasy food on the countertop surface.The instructions are very easy to follow.I did over 18 feet of granite, and I barely used more than 7 ounces of this product, very efficient.No mess, easy to apply and wipe, using a microfiber towel.Food Safe.The citrus smell is amazing, with no chemical smells.This 32oz of Rino Wax Soapstone Oil will last me for many, many years.

This stone conditioner worked well on my stone countertops and backsplash. It requires prep, as all stone restorers/conditioners do, so follow the instructions carefully to get the best results.After prepping and applying the Rhino Wax stone conditioner, it left my stone surfaces looking good. The water proofing quality is solid good, just not as durable as my other product that is twice the price, but requires less application.Overall, this is a good option if you are trying to avoid mineral oil and other ingredients.

This soapstone oil is easy to apply and gives old concrete and soapstone counters a rich, refreshed look. This is a good product for some of my surfaces.I actually have used it on a few items that it is not necessarily intended for but still works great and is safe.Have a birdbath that was really looking rough but I used this then let it sit for a few days before adding water back in and so far it is doing so much better and is now much easier to clean.Also used this on one of my favorite wooden cutting boards that I was ready to give up on but I am rather impressed with how great it has been for that board.I know this is more for slate/concrete and the like but thought why not wood because of the natural oils in it.

It worked just the way I hoped and made things a lot easier for me. The quality is strong, and it feels like it’s made to last. I also liked how simple it was to use—no confusion or frustration, just straightforward and helpful. It quickly became something I use often and it makes my concrete countertops look great!What stood out the most was how well it did what it promised and it really made a difference for my kitchen's appearance! . I think this is a solid choice when compared to it's competitors. I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to others.

Product shipped quickly and arrived intact. I love that this product is super safe. The ingredients blend is very reassuring. It also smells great.With that said, it doesn't really work at all on pretreated countertops. That should be obvious, but in case it wasn't, you should know that. This will basically smudge around and do nothing.It works moderately well on untreated areas. Maybe your countertops need to be treated again anyway. Maybe there is wear and tear. Maybe there is some erosion around the sink area? This super safe product is easy to apply and you need very little of it to cover large areas. This bottle will last a very long time.In terms of price, not bad. It is currently running at $16.95. I'm not sure how you would ever run out of this product after buying one bottle. You might be applying it more often than other treatments, but it will still last a long time. Overall, I thought this was a great product, because it is very safe.

I have another soapstone oil that I usually use. It costs more per ounce and takes a bit more to do the same area, but the results did come out better. However, given the cost of this AND that it doesn't take as much to cover that area, I definitely think this deserves all 4 of the stars I gave it.Usually, I'd use my other product once every 3 months, and use a bit of mineral oil in between to keep everything looking fresh and shiny. I'm not a fan of mineral oil, but it does the trick.Honestly, I'm pretty happy that, between the cost of this and how well it goes on, I no longer need to supplement with mineral oil. I can use this more frequently than my other stuff and kick out the oil altogether!I took off one star because it's not as great as my other conditioner, but gave it 4 ecstatic stars because I'm still going to start using this, instead!

I tried this on a bunch of things. Really shines on slate, made the soapstone counter look new, not so much on the concrete but that's already been treated so wasn't expecting much there. I don't know how long it lasts (no change after several weeks) so I'll probably pick up their wax to try and make this refresh last. I did take a chance on an old wood cutting board, got results similar to mineral or linseed oil. I'm going to wait a month or so to see how it ages and if there are any effects before I trust it with a nice one, but so far seems to be good for wood as well. Smells great too which is a bonus.
