Works great, smooth application

We ordered several of the Rhino Wax balms for our dogs. We ordered the paw balm specifically for the summer when the ground gets super hot around our pool and for the hot sand since we're taking a vacation to the beach with our dogs. The wax goes on their paws so nicely and easily. The scent is barely noticeable so it won't irritate the dogs. I think it will do a great job protecting their paws. We also got some of their soothing balms for after the beach. Rhino wax is lick safe luckily. The packaging is super nice and their products are made in the USA. Highly recommend Rhino wax!

For me!

I don’t have a dog but I do have hands and feet! And, after a very dry winter mine look awful! I have split cuticles and fingertips along with sawdust dry feet! I put some of this on last night before bed and what a magnificent difference I woke up to!Some of the splits that have been so painful for days no longer throbbed!! It also seemed to alleviate some of the redness around my cuticles! And boy…do my feet feel soft! So, yes! I do recommend this Rhino Wax healing balm for doggie’s little cracked toes! It’s got to give them SOME relief! Maybe they’ll even share it with their people!

Easy Twist and Apply - Made in USA

This Rhino Wax healing balm variety is formulated to address paw pad pain a dog may have from walking on rough surfaces or maybe dry, cracked pads from the winter's cold. The tube package is very innovative - after removing the cardboard top and protective cap, twisting the lower portion of the tube pushes the balm up to the top. It's a lot like the old push up ice cream sherbet. The balm is a nice consistency and it smells great too. My dog has sensitive paws and didn't mind me applying this balm to his paws that were cracked. I feel better knowing that this product is "lick safe," and that inevitably will happen. The tube is about 6 inches tall and it fits in the hand nicely. I love using this applicator because it allows transfer of balm directly where it's needed so it can be massaged in. I don't end up getting more of it on me than the dog. This balm is Made in USA. Ingredients are clearly printed on the label - and you can pronounce them!

Chapstick for doggy paws

My oldest, largest dog has always had dry, cracked pads and I haven't found anything that really works for her. I think the issue is that she has paw pads that are at least twice as thick as any dogs I've every had or seen. They are ridiculous.I recently found this balm and have started putting it on her. Because of her age and arthritis, there is no issue finding a time where she is conked out on the couch for a long enough period that I can apply this without worrying she is going to lick it or get up and walk around. I don't think we've been trying this long enough to notice a difference yet though. The balm comes in a chapstick like container that is paper on the outside and plastic inside (the balm tube and cover). I find that disappointing. The image description states that this this is "climate conscious" and that the packaging is "responsibly sourced" to "reduce environmental impact." There is no plastic that is good plastic.I do appreciate that the scent is very light and disappears as the balm is rubbed in. I am very sensitive to smell and this doesn't bother me at all.Overall, I like the product so far and it seems affordable.

good stuff

This seems to be a very high quality balm made of good ingredients. It has a nice consistency and feel to it and it smells really good. Now if I can just convince my dog to be patient enough to give it a try I'm sure he'll like it, too. It's easy to apply and I know he will be warming up to it soon as it's working wonders on his dry paws. Recommended.

Works great!

This paw sauve works amazingly. I was shocked at how it sped up the healing process. It also smells very nice. I also like how it didn’t make my dog want to lick it off his paw so it stayed exactly where it needed too. It was also super easy to apply.

Works great on cracked pads

This balm has been amazing for my dogs cracked pads. We recently started walking a new area that has a lot of mixed terrain and neither of my dogs will wear booties. This balm has been great for helping to relieve some of the cracks and dryness and help keep their pads healthy and soft.

Works like Lip Balm BUT for pups!

For the price, I wasn't expecting anything small though... but it was WAY bigger than I expected. It's really handy that it comes in a tubular form, thinking of our chapsticks - this is the same but for pups. Our pups are already used to having cream or wax on their nose and paws - we have hunting dogs, so we try to use mushers on them before we run them. But these ones we are planning to use on off season time, when we go to the beach... or just plain old walk in the park. They smell a little minty and our pups took to licking them after we put them on. LOL. the usual really. We especially love that these are made in USA and its by a small company who seems to also have comparable waves for baseball equipment. For what its worth - $14.95 is a great deal - highly recommend!

Amazing!

One of our newest dogs, she is a house hippo and has very rough paws due to the situation prior to us adopting her. I had tried everything that was pooch friendly up until the point where I had seen this balm. Picked it up and on first application we noticed an immediate difference in how her paws felt. She didnt try to lick it much but it does state that it is safe for dogs, even if they lick it. This is definitely an amazing balm, does exactly what its supposed to do and heals the dry and cracked paws without any unnecessary chemicals, dyes or anything else. Highly recommend

Great Paw Wax!

I have a border collie that has notoriously crusty feet. Her paw pads can scrape your skin up worse than her nails do. I got this paw wax in hopes that it would help soften her super crusty toes and I was not disappointed. I love the ingredients in this wax and love that it comes in a deodorant-like tube that make application very easy. The wax is very soft and is easy to apply without having to press hard or warm it up first. I haven't noticed it leaving any nasty oily spots on the furniture either, which is a definite win when my girl has to be next to me on the couch all the time. I am quite happy with how this has improved her paw pads in a short amount of time. I have no complaints at all!

Paw balm

This is a good roll on style balm, kind of like deodorant. I got a bunch of different types of this balm stuff from this company They all work quite well. The consistency is not too liquidy nor hard like a brick, so application is easy. The ingredients between the different balms varies a bit, but I haven't been able to do a deeper test on the specific differences between the products aside from the slightly different ingredients and packaging. Anyway, more importantly, this works well at protecting & healing/soothing paws in general or after a walk. This was used on dogs of various sizes. I really appreciate the ingredients are non toxic. These are good products for your pup's paws.

easy to use, not better than leading brand

Like others mentioned, I was surprised at the size of this tube, it's good for it's value. I applied it to my dog's paws twice a day for a few days and didn't see a complete resolution to the cracked or rough patches on her paws. I do like that it comes in a stick and is easier to apply compared to a tub but as for effectiveness, I think it performs about the same to the next leading brand.

4 different oils help to heal dog paws

This nice product (Rhino Wax - Healing Dog Paw Balm) has a formula containing only 6 ingredients, and 4 of those are oils (castor, almond, soybean, and rosemary oils). The product comes as a paste in a tube. I scoop out a small amount, maybe the size of a quarter, and apply it to one of my large dog's paws. (His paws are consistently dried and cracked.) The paste liquifies immediately when I apply it to the paw. It is easy to spread on the paw pads and in between each pad.Since the product is primarily oil, the product is of course greasy, so to prevent greasy paw prints on my carpets and floors, I put socks on my dog's feet and secure them with self-adhering bandages. I leave the socks on for an hour or 2 until the product absorbs well into the paws. The product immediately softens and moisturizes my dog's paws as soon as I apply it. I am hoping that with twice daily use I can get his paws to heal up completely over the long term.

Great balm for my two pup's rough, cracked paws; EZ & convenient to apply + quick results

This is an excellent balm to help heal and protect my dog's rough paws. It is housed in a large, sturdy cardboard tube that can be twisted to raise the solid stick of balm, just like an over-sized chapstick. The cardboard lid is easily removed, and there is also a small plastic disc to cover the surface of the balm, which I really like. The balm has a nice scent and the consistency of the balm is just right -- it feels very smooth and it is not too hard or too soft, so it is easily applied. This is a much more convenient method than trying to apply a cream from a tube or a balm from a jar + there is no mess. My pups were a little mistrustful at first and then they seemed to think I was trying to play, but they are slowly getting used to the idea of having this balm applied a couple of times a day. I haven't had much luck with distracting them, so I do try to time it for when they are already tuckered out so they are less likely to lick most of the balm off (it must taste as good as it smells). The balm is very effective and I have noticed that both of my dogs already have smoother, softer paws after just a few applications. The price seems very reasonable for two ounces, which seems as if it will last quite a while. I appreciate that the full list of ingredients is shown in the description and that the balm is made in the USA.

Overpriced for such a small amount

It's okay, but you don't get a lot for your money. Compared to some of the other brands. We are using another brand that is a third of the price and having the same results

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do dogs need paw balm or paw wax?

A dog’s paws are exposed to rough terrain, heat, cold, salt, and chemicals. Paw balm helps moisturize, protect, and prevent cracking, dryness, and irritation.

What ingredients should I look for in a pet paw balm?

Look for natural oils and waxes that moisturize and protect without synthetic additives. Avoid petroleum-based products, artificial fragrances, or harsh chemicals.

Can I use human lotion or petroleum jelly on my dog’s paws?

No. Many human products contain ingredients that are unsafe for dogs if ingested and may trap moisture instead of nourishing the skin.

Can paw balm be used on a dog’s nose or dry skin?

Yes. Many paw balms are also safe for use on dry snouts, elbows, and other irritated skin areas. Always follow product guidelines and avoid open wounds.
