Dog Skin Soother Balm - Dog Lotion for Dry Itchy Skin

I really like this Rhino Wax Skin Balm; it's handmade, with natural ingredients: Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Rosamary Oil and Lavender Oil. It's a soft cream, goes on smoothly and smells great! I plan to bring this with me when I travel with the Pug Boys, as the tube is small and can easily be tucked into a purse or pocket. It will be ideal to have on hand for any itchy skin issues, hot spots or dry paws that should develop along the way. (Note: I would definitely not leave this balm in a hot car, as the high oil, butter and wax content will cause it to melt.)The boys

I love the natural ingredients in this moisturizing stick for dogs. It smells very nice and is easy to apply. It seems to be helping my girl, Thea, with her itchy and dry spots.

This is a good balm for a scab my dog developed on her skin. I love a good plastic free packaging that the tube is made out of but i have concerns for it holding up long term. It’s a push up style tube. You do want to play with your dog for a bit while it absorbs so they can go rubbing the product on your couch. It helped the wound heal faster though!

The pet industry much like the beauty industry is incredibly wasteful packaging wise. I like that this company is not only giving back thru their product but they are trying to make an environmental impact too. The product smells a bit strong but it does work. I love,love,love that they made this in biodegradable packaging. It's a simple push up cardboard tube. I hope they reformulate to include more of a fragrance free smell. My Weimaraner (see pictured, we did a little photo shoot because she's cute) has sensitive skin and this was no issue. My bloodhound I did not try, hence the breed he has a strong sniffer and I could not bring myself to put this on him. . .

I ordered this for our year old rescue mixed-breed puppy (with very short, thin brindle colored fur) suffering from some skin issues that we suspect may be due to allergies (either environmental or food, too young to determine yet). He's had some red irritations on his chest/under arms from scratching but it mostly affects his ears. He scratches his ears a lot (no infections/infestations, checked multiple times by the Vet), specifically affecting his ear tips which the vet diagnosed as ear margin dermatitis and prescribed a cream with antibiotics and steroids. I use that to clear it up, but I'd prefer to use a natural product for maintenance/preventative treatment to control it. The skin on his ear tips is dry, flaky, and hairless. I've been using coconut oil with good results but it's difficult to put on and he constantly wants to eat it (loves the flavor apparently) so I don't apply it often enough. This wax stick seems like just the ticket to make this easier to apply multiple times daily - quicker and cleaner to apply, it seems to absorbs quicker than regular coconut oil, and a lovely scent of lavender and rosemary. The smell is not overpowering and I'm thrilled it has lavender and rosemary oil because these scents help repel fleas, mosquitos, flies, lice, and other bugs - bonus as we go into the warmer months! No worries if he licks it since it's all natural and I also like the eco-friendly packaging, no plastic. Even if your dog doesn't have skin issues, this is a nice product to keep on hand to protect sensitive skin areas and repel bugs in the summer.

I have tried so many different products for my dogs allergy hot spots and nothing has worked. This does!! It does have a smell, smells medicated. I love that it's natural and that a portion of the price is donated. I haven't used this long enough to see if it clears up allergy hot spots but it definitely soothes so it should definitely help any spots that's already been caused from scratching. I'll continue to use and if it continues to prove effective, I will be a returning customer! Definitely, definitely recommend!

This is a high quality moisturizer that I have been applying to my dogs belly. She had developed darkening of her skin from irritation. After about a week of use I noticed a lightening of her skin.After I apply it to her abdomen I let her run around outside so it can absorb. It absorbs surprisingly fast. It does have a strong lavender smell.I tested this product on the back of my own hands and it's soaked in well and moisturized my skin as well.The product is packaged in an earth friendly cardboard tube that is easy to use.

My poor Feist gets hot spots from allergy season and this dog lotion is really helping to clear it up. It smells really nice and blends into her skin easily. I do love biodegradable packaging but this one may have melted a bit at some time b/c the cardboard container was soaked through which didn't happen with the other wax, but other than that this is a great product all around. My pup enjoyed it when I put it on her and she didn't immediately try to lick it off.

I have a rat terrier with itchy skin. She gets bit by mosquitos and instead of normal licking or biting, she is very rough and almost gets hotspots. I love this stick. She hates it...well, she has to lick it off, but it's easy to apply. I love the scent and even put some on a mosquito bite on my foot. She licked that off, too. LOL. We are having a bit of a fight, but some stays on and the wounds heal faster. I find it easier to apply some to my fingers and rub that on her itchy spots. I like that it is made in the USA and supports the World Wildlife Fund. It also smells wonderful.

We have a 10 month old, standard poodle, who had his tail docked when he was a puppy and ever since we brought him home, he has always had an issue, biting at his tail which caused severe chafing, bald spots, and bleeding. We tried everything to stop this and even had a prescription. None of which helped with this issue. However, after using this, just three times our poodle has now stopped itching at his tail. His fur has began to grow back, and there is no more bleeding or scabbing. I was absolutely shocked at how well and quickly this worked. The product does not have any strong smells, and it did not hurt or irritate our poodles tail. It is quite thick, but it is very easy to rub in and within 10 minutes the balm is completely absorbed. I will definitely be stocking up on this as it has been a miracle product for our poodle!!!! Last of all, I really like this because it is super easy to travel with as well.

The balm is very soft and oily with a faint coconut scent. I was able to apply it to my dogs hotspot, and she didn't seem to notice it was there. (That was great, because she has licked other balms off in the past). I just started using it, so I can't speak to the full benefit yet, but my dog is tolerating it, so were off to a great start.

This is great for hot spots on dogs. I have a half Maltese have Shi Tzu dog who suffers from itchy skin especially after going outside. I’ve noticed since I started using this she isn’t breaking out nearly as bad. I would give it 5 stars but the container it comes in isn’t ideal and gets greasy after use.

This is much easier to get my doggo to hold still for. Knocked a star off for the weird smell but otherwise it works great for her hotspots (summer sores some call them) and keeps her from chafing under the arms when out and it's hot/humid.

I have three dogs and one of them always has a rash, raw elbows, is missing fur, or has cracked paws. This balm seems to be the answer for everything that my dogs can come up with. I like the packaging and it’s very easy to disperse. The scent is not bad at all and if it were my dogs would not let me near them. I like that it is all natural, chemical-free dog skin care products and that it contains coconut oil, shea butter, beeswax, lavender, rosemary and Vitamin E. These are some of the same things I would use on myself. I did rub a little on the back of my hand to see how it felt and it was soft and creamy. After the Winter we’ve had I immediately rubbed some on my dogs paws and they didn’t mind one bit. I really believe this is a great product for my dogs!

I always look for the best for my spoiled dogs. Naturally, I am always hesitant to try things from a new company, so I do my research. Well, I am highly satisfied and feel I can trust this skin balm by Rhino Wax. The ingredients are all dog safe, the smell is not offensive, the packaging is down right fantastic, and although I am not sure what percentage it is that they donate, at least the tiniest portion of their purchases go to the World Wildlife Fund. It's overall a product and company that you can feel good about. I tried it and my dogs are doing fine so far, no odd reactions to any of the ingredients. Of course, they try to lick it off sometimes, so that's why I needed to make sure that the ingredients are not poisonous. It is a tad on the pricey side, but they do have a set of multiple balms at a better price, so I say that is a better value if you're looking to save more. A little bit goes a long way, so this should last. Always close it thoroughly to preserve the moisture. I highly recommend them!

I originally bought this for my chihuahua mix, as she was always chewing on her paws. We managed to get her itchiness under control with an allergy chew, so I've had this sitting around for a while with no use. Now, my 17 year old dachshund has had to be in diapers for quite a while due to his age. The diapers started to irritate his skin, even with washing him with gentle soap. He was constantly trying to chew on his skin or scratch it, to where he doesn't have any fur on his belly on one side and his skin is red. I put this wax on him last night and he immediately stopped digging and scratching. Put it on again today and he is still leaving it alone. My baby's skin and fur finally will have a chance to heal.

I got this for my 13 year old dachshund. He stinks usually and has dry skin. I thought this balm would help, but it’s okay. I mean he enjoys me massaging it on his paws and skin but it doesn’t keep him moisturized any longer than 10 minutes or less. I would save your money and try to find another product.

My dog was bittting and itching his skin raw .. horrible little red patches. the sprays were not working, so I desperately ordered two different soothing balm products. This one has seemed to give him relief right away, so I haven't even opened the other one or needed anything else. Not only does he stop itching as soon as I put it on, but he doesn't even have a desire to lick it off. It seems to give him relief and soothe the redness right away. Great product!

Love this, when my pup breaks out with a rash on her tummy this helps sooth her really well.
