Fantastic for cowboy boots too!!!

The photos speak for themselves for the most part!I have a pair of worn leather boots and really like the worn pattern. However, I tried using a Mink Oil designed for leather boot conditioning and waterproofing and it SUPER DARKENED the leather. It completely eliminated all of the patterning everywhere and made it all a super dark brown. Not so with this mixture of castor oil, beeswax, and shea butter. This stuff is more like a lighter cream. I used a soft cloth to scoop small amounts out and then rubbed it into the leather and then used a clean cloth to buff the leather a little. You can see that this conditioner just very lightly darkened the patterns so you can see it's moisturizing the leather but it's basically just not waterproofing as well because it doesn't penetrate as deep. The mink oil is a pure liquid that pours out. This tube is definitely a wax consistency so it's a lot more like shoe polish if you've ever used thick shoe polish to polish leather dress shoes. This stuff is great! Yes, like I said, not a pure 100% waterproofing since it doesn't penetrate as deep as an oil but that's what I needed because the other stuff made everything way too dark! This stuff leaves a nice smooth and buffed finish and it's definitely waterproofed to a good extent.Highly recommend this for alternate leather uses! Well worth the price! 5/5 from me!Also - adding a side note - this stuff is the exact same ingredients as Rhino Wax Leather Conditioner. It just comes in a tube instead of a tin so that it's easier to apply to a baseball/softball clove while it's on 1 hand. Really like having the tube as an application tube.

Superb for Restoring Long Lasting Pliability and Moisture to Leather

I’m no stranger to Rhino glove care products, and this is the second tube of their Glove Conditioner I’ve ordered. I previously ordered their Baseball Glove Maintenance Kit in which it was included. The kit also included, as a first step, a cleansing Glove Oil, with this, the conditioner, as a final step. I liked it so much that I took the Conditioner to a game for my softball team to use, and it got used up; everyone seemed to love it.The Rhino Glove Conditioner is supplied in a twist tube form, similar to a deodorant. It’s made from four simple natural ingredients, castor oil, beeswax, shea butter, and vitamin E. Rhino suggests working the conditioner into the glove leather by hand. Twist out some of the conditioner from the tube, rub it on the glove, then use your fingers or a brush to rub it into the leather. I tend to my glove while watching tv or relaxing, and find that by using my fingers I can get the conditioner into all of the nooks and crannies and between the fingers of the glove. And since the ingredients are all natural, it’s harmless to my skin; more likely beneficial, since I’m a leather product myself.Rhino markets several Glove Maintenance kits in which this product, the Glove Conditioner, is included. These kits include leather cleaners that Rhino suggests using prior to the application of the conditioner. Using a leather cleaner removes dirt and oxidization and provides a good start to reconditioning the leather. After cleaning the glove, the Glove Conditioner does just that, conditions, restoring pliability and rehydrating the leather, leaving it with a natural clean leather smell and looking richly moisturized.I’m sold on Rhino leather products. Their baseball glove maintenance products are the best I’ve used. Moreover, I appreciate that they are made from all natural ingredients, just like leather, and I am all for supporting an American small business. If you’ve never used their products, I would suggest checking out their entire line of glove maintenance merchandise and starting with one of their kits.

Works well on 12+ year old Wilson A2000 glove, no smell!

I have four baseball gloves I use for the family. My oldest glove is a Wilson A2000 and I did not treat it well for years.Restrung the tattered leather lacing last year, and never conditioned the glove, so for this season, wanted to start treating my glove proper.Wiped down the glove to get the years of dirt and grime off with some soap and water and let fan dry.First tried to use a cotton cloth to dab the conditioner and wipe on to the glove, but this took too long and the cloth would absorb too much conditioner.Ended up using a used soft bristle kids brush and this worked great to apply the conditioner.I was able to get into the creases and crevasses between the webbing and laces.Wiped the glove down after to get the excess off, and let sit till the next day.A little of the conditioner goes a long way.The conditioner comes in a cardboard box, and the construction seems quite rugged enough for me to carry in my sports bag if needed. Admittedly, this will stay at home until needed.Big pluses that the conditioner doesn't have a strong smell, very faint, and since it's a wax, was not overly oily and easy to clean up.Ingredients: Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Beeswax.

Good to have

We are a big baseball family and our sons play the sport. There is always a need for wax to condition the gloves so I'm happy I found this product. It comes in a stick so it's very easy to use. It pushes up and can roll on. Now, the wax is really thick. It isn't soft so that you can rub it on to condition it. You have to use a bit of pressure to get the wax off and onto the glove. For the price, this is decent. Most wax products are very expensive. I feel we will use this a couple of times.

Works well.

I bought my baseball glove in the last century and it looks like it - old and dry. I ordered this glove conditioner to breathe some new life into the old mitt. And it works great. It rolls onto the glove and then you can spread it and rub it in with a cloth or a soft brush. It has reconditioned my glove's leather nicely. The only thing I would suggest is that it would be nice if it had more of a scent. I want my glove to look good and not it does but I'd also like it smell like leather which it does not.

Time will tell?

It's difficult to review something that will require some time and usage. This is a conditioning wax and you have to apply it and allow it to settle and condition the leather. That's something that will be more visible with time and use of course. But for what it's worth, the application process and applicator for this is pretty cool. Like using a big tube of lip balm. After application, I spread it around the leather w/ my fingers and let it set.

Treat Your Leather to a Convenient Spa Treatment

Confession #1: I didn't get this for my baseball glove. I don't even own a baseball glove but I love real leather and have a long-suffering belt which was experiencing serious cracking.Confession #2: I can't stand to have most greasy creams on the palms of my hands and have the dry skin to prove it. But this product solves that in an elegant, effective way. You'll see this solution instantly when you open the container. Like Alice in Wonderland you'll see the instruction "Twist Me" and soon after your eyes will light on the removable inner cap and realize that this wand works like an anti-perspirant. Twist the tube and it reveals a bit of the product which is a mixture of castor oil, beeswax, shea butter and Vitamin E. Heck, that's the same stuff that's in quality skin moisturizers but in stick form. So, even though this isn't unpleasant for me to touch, it's fast and easy to apply with little waste. Pure genius!!Apply it to a clean item (they make cleaner too), even to the burnished edges, a sign of a well-made leather product. You can get into small areas. Smooth in with your hands or buff with a soft cloth like an old T-shirt. The leather will darken temporarily. The cracks on the stressed parts of my beloved belt appeared to heal almost instantly. I'm sure it will need a few more coats periodically to allow the moisture to be completely absorbed, but this is no longer an unpleasant chore, so you've no longer got a good reason to avoid treating your favorite leather items. My highest recommendations.

Shortens Baseball Glove Break-in Time

I coached Little League and intercity baseball teams for more than 15 years and now that my kids are grown and having babies of their own, I can't resist the urge to teach them the skills they need to be a good team player. Every year or two I am buying them new gloves and their tiny hands have a hard time closing the mit to make a catch or stop a ground ball. The break in time for a new glove can last for a while, sometimes all season long.Well, not any more. Rhino Wax Baseball Glove Conditioner makes it easy and it really works as fast as advertised. One application and allowing the glove to sit overnight and you can really tell a huge difference as the glove becomes more pliable. A second treatment a day or two later and your glove will fit and feel very nicely. It's simple to use, just apply the wax to all of the hinge points, into the pocket and webbing, work it into the leather really well and let the glove stand overnight. Viola, a glove that even the youngest kids can use.4oz doesn't sound like a lot of wax, but it actually is. I did my own glove while demonstrating to the older kids how to apply the wax and they did 4 more gloves (your glove doesn't need to be new to benefit from the wax) and I've used less than 1/3 of the container. We will do a second application after the weekend is over and I suspect I'll still have plenty of wax for next years round of new glove purchases. And honestly, I haven't found a leather product that hasn't benefited from using Rhino Wax Baseball Glove Conditioner. Baseball shoes, something else I buy each year, are softer and more pliable after a single application. My new leather belt feels soft and more like an old belt. My grandaughter received a new saddle for her horse and some of the straps were stiff and difficult to adjust so I let her use some and those straps are working fine. I even have a holster for a revolver that was always stiff and tight, gripping the revolver more tightly and not allowing for a smooth draw. Fixed that as well. My current western wear boots are a decade old and feel like slippers, but when I get my next new pair, you can bet that I'll use Rhino Wax to soften them up and prevent those break-in pains. And it protects the leather. My own glove is 30+ years old and it looks almost like new after a couple of applications of Rhino Wax Baseball Glove Conditioner and it is protected from water, rain and sweat. The kids gloves, often handed down or donated, are already broken in and easy for the tiny ones to use.For just $16 you get to condition and protect a lot of leather, whether baseball gloves or almost any leather good you can think of. At the price of baseball gear these days, that makes perfect sense to me.And be sure to check out the rest of the Rhino Wax store (linked above). They have a great line of products for leather care, the perfect way to preserve your gear.

However, with Rhino Wax, the break-in time is significantly reduced. The conditioner softens the leather and promotes flexibility, allowing the glove to mold to my hand's shape more quickly without sacrificing durability.Improves Flexibility:Flexibility is crucial for optimal performance on the field, and Rhino Wax excels in enhancing the flexibility of baseball gloves. By conditioning the leather and minimizing stiffness, this product enables effortless movement and superior grip, giving me the confidence to make those crucial catches and throws with precision.Convenience:The compact 2 oz size of Rhino Wax makes it convenient to carry in my baseball bag, ensuring that I can maintain my glove's condition wherever I go. Really is great product

I have a 40 year old softball glove that I love. I've restrung it a couple of times, but the leather became a bit cracked. This stuff is almost magical in conditioning the leather. Very easy to apply, and it really restores old leather well. One cautionary note: I left it fully greased up in an unventilated closet in the basement for the off-season, and the glove got a bit of grey something (mildew?) on it; no problem, it wiped easily, I reapplied the wax, and the glove works so well that I can't blame it for dropping popups.

Perfect leather treatment

This stuff works great. After a cleaning rub this into the leather. Leaves a supple yet slightly tacky pocket to hold that dang ball. Love it.

Great Conditioner/Protector

I use this stuff after cleaning and conditioning with Sarna products. I like how this stuff is like a "wax" (duh, it's in the name) which only conditions the leather but protects it from absorbing dirt and water. Also leaves semi-tacky surface which makes leads to more secure catches.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I oil or condition a baseball glove?

Yes—but sparingly. Use a glove conditioner designed for sports leather to soften and protect the glove without making it heavy or greasy.

How often should I condition my glove?

Condition lightly 1–2 times per season, or when the leather feels dry. Over-conditioning can cause the glove to lose structure.

Can glove conditioner make my glove heavier?

Using too much product can add weight. Apply a thin layer and wipe off any excess to keep your glove game-ready.

How do I clean a dirty baseball glove?

Use a soft brush to remove dirt and debris, then wipe with a damp cloth. Allow the glove to air dry fully before conditioning.
