Cowboy Boot Care Kit

I have my father's bag he bought in Argentina. One of the few things that I requested after his passing. When I got the bag it was rough to the touch and I couldn't remember what tack conditioner dad used on the farm. When I saw the Rhino wax come up, I took a chance because I want to use the bag.When the Rhino Wax conditioning kit came in I tested it on the underside of the flap. It instantly started to darken, and I knew right then this leather was thirsty. It brought back the original coloring of the bag as it dried. Once I saw how good it worked I coated the entire bag. The leather went from stiff to soft with each pass. I hung it up to let it soak in for the recommendation of 12 to 24 hours and then I'll add the conditioner. All I can say is thank you to Rhino wax for bringing a family memento back to life. Side note even without the wax the bag looks so much better than before. I added the before and after of the flap.

I have a darker brown Circle Y western saddle. I admit I am not great at treating the leather as often as I should. Both products went on easy. They did not change the color of my saddle but instead deepened the color - made it richer looking. The leather was not slick when I was done and gave it a chance to absorb and dry. I did not apply it to the seat just in case though. Will be using this on my headstall next. Nice item.

My boots were in need of some major love and I had a wedding to go to so I figured that I would clean them up with this product instead of the leather conditioner that I got from Boot Barn. I was very pleased with how great my boots came out practically looking like new. They never looked this good with the cleaner that I got from Boot Barn.

I have quite a few leather items, but to be honest I've never really taken steps to try and care for them before using dedicated products. I saw this kit and decided to give it a shot.Rhino Wax's website provides some super straightforward instructions on how to use their products and I was quite happy with the results on a pair of my gloves that had been in storage for the past few years. They definitely need some more work, but the kit helped restore them quite a bit as they were!The microfiber cloths are nice quality with the company logo embellished onto them, and the brushes honestly seem to be genuinely good quality. The only real issues that I had with this kit is was from the large brush and the bottle that contained the leather oil.The larger brush began to shed pretty badly from the start of using it. I thought it might have been that I was using too much pressure or using it incorrectly or that some of the bristles were just loose and it was natural for some of them to fall out during initial use, but every item that I treated using the large brush, I had to clean away bristles that had come free. Not many bristles, mind you, but enough to make me wonder how long the brush would last under light conditions. I didn't have that trouble with the small brush at all.The bottle of leather oil was just fine, except that it was a little tricky at first. The lid had a press-tab so that you could just push on the side of the lid and an opening would pop up that allowed you to quickly deposit some onto the working surface... Of course, in shipping, bottles of oil are usually sealed with foil to prevent leakage.. That is how this bottle was, but after I removed the foil seal, the bottle still wouldn't dispense oil when the cap was flipped open~ because the cap itself had it's own seal as well. Again, nothing major, but it can catch you off-guard thinking you only have one seal to remove when opening the bottle with this set.

I have ordered a few items from Rhino. They make great products and best of all is they are made in USA, I’m happy to support US made items. They give you a couple of their dobber brushes in this kit, it’s nice to have one brush for each purpose so having multiples is great. I used one of these brushes to clean my leather car seats, it worked great! They also include a waffle cloth for buffing or applying conditioner/cleaner, their cloths are good size too. The only drawback with the cloth is it seems more abrasive at the logo, the logo looks cool though so not too much of an issue. Their cleaners/oils/conditioners/waterproofers are all very good, if you’re buying nice leather products you should take care of them. I definitely recommend this kit and the brand as a whole.

Well... this was a great kit, until my dog got to it and chewed up the brushes... dang dog. But this is great for use to help restore leather. I used it on my leather jacket. After cleaning it, I used the oil as a conditioning item. You don't need a lot of oil for it to help the item. It sucked it up and looks great. I used a couple of coats and let the leather dry in between. I really liked this product and what it did. I would love to see a whole kit start to finish.

This review is for the conditioning kit (not including cleaner) . I used this on a few older pairs of boots that needed extra care after deep cleaning them. A little of the oil goes a long way. The oil is great for restoring with, and I will be maintaining with the conditioner. I like Rhino Wax for the natural ingredients, and use the saddle soap on our western saddles.

I noticed that the ingredients for these products are all ingredients which are recommended for human skin so I was not afraid to order or to use and did not have to worry about wearing protective gloves to not come into contact with harsh chemicals. I also liked to see that this product was made in the USA and that it has a lifetime warranty.

I regularly clean, condition, dye, and restore leather goods as a hobby and to keep my investments in good shape. I’m very particular as a result. I’ve tried it all. This kit is a great value and has all the essentials—and they’re high-quality at that! I didn’t expect the brushes to hold up and have been pleased with those even though they were a bonus. Order this for your household go-to kit!I’ve worked on couches, jackets, boots, saddles and other tack, and more. This is great for your small leather goods with books and crannies in particular. Highly recommend for apparel and accessories.

This set is perfect! It comes with a bit of everything you need to keep your leather products in good condition.Easy to use.Cleaned and conditioned my leather boots amazingly! I will definitely be reordering these products when I run out.

Anyone that has a saddle knows that for a good saddle you are investing a lot of money. This kit has what you need to keep that saddle in top condition. Don't stop at the saddle because this will work on your leather riding boots, another pricey investment.

I have now used the Rhino Wax Kit on a leather purse, belts, and a leather datebook cover. It improved the appearance of them all, especially the belt and datebook, which hadn’t been treated for a very long time. (Took 3 applications of oil on the purse, about 5 on the belt and datebook.)For years, I have used olive oil (yes, the stuff you buy in the grocery store) on my leather shoes, purses, etc, at the advice of a skilled leather craftsman. It works well, but has to be repeated often.The Rhino Leather Conditioner, used after the leather has been pre-treated with the Oil, seems to give better protection. The Oil is castor oil and vitamin E; The Conditioner is castor oil, beeswax, and shea butter.The instructions on both treatments are a bit confusing. The seller’s instructions on the Amazon product page are clearer: 1-remove dirt; 2-apply oil, 3-condition.The cloths have a logo printed on them, and that logo is some sort of plastic-y ink and is somewhat stiff. I suggest using the backs of the cloths.The oil bottle is made with 30% wheat straw (thumbs up). Apparently it is NOT recyclable (thumb up or down, depending on what the other 70% contents are).I am delighted to find that these products are made in the USA!NOTE: There is a not-very-noticeable cardboard liner in the lid of the oil bottle, which needs to be removed, along with the foil seal on top of the bottle.

As this is a US made product with very good ingredients, I had high hopes. I use a lot of leather products as I have several saddles, bridles and other equestrian accruements. My tack is well cared for and expensive so rather than use my $5k saddle as a test piece; I opted to test on a pair of half chaps. The oil is very thick and a little goes a long way. I lightly spread it on and let it soak in. It didn't change the color of the leather and very little of the leather dye came off on the supplied cloth. Next I used the conditioner. Again, I spread a thin coating, massaging it into the leather and let it finish drying/soaking in. Basically, I noticed zero change. I expected the leather to be softer--granted, it was in good shape to begin with but still. I also hoped for a slight sheen or polish. Nope nothing. Literally no difference. I generally use Effax products and they go on easier and leave a nice sheen. I suppose if you have some leather that's in bad shape, the Rhino products would be more useful. However, they are understandably pricey and take a good bit of effort to apply. I will continue to use what I have, but I doubt I'll buy more.

I like the brushes, but I don't know about the conditioner and the leather oil. Both the conditioner and leather oil list castor oil as an ingredient. The oil simply lists castor oil and Vitamin E, and I've never heard of anyone using castor oil on leather. It can go rancid, so I don't know if I'd be willing to put it into the leather out of fear that it'll eventually turn bad and cause a stink like it would with other oils such as vegetable oil, canola oil, olive oil, etc. I tested it on scrap leather, and the leather oil made it look nice, but I can't answer the long term question yet about it stinking when it oxidizes.

This is seriously good for your leather goods. I used it on my Cordova leather seats that were starting to crack and although it can't fix the cracks and made them supple again. It's great stuff

Did everything I needed it to in one kit.

Does the job well, clean, condition & water resistant. My boots soaked up the product, probably should have done this sooner…
