Works great on leathered granite!

Soapstone Cleaning Kit - Includes Stone Spray Cleaner, Scraper, Microfiber Cloth - Food Safe - Natural Ingredients - Safely Clean Soapstone, Slate, Granite, Quartz, Marble, Concrete - USA is a good stone cleaner. I have leathered granite countertops and I used this cleaner on them. I noticed that the cleaner not only cleaned but it left my countertops shining just a little. Leathered granite is not a high sheen but this cleaner left it clean and bright. It is a small bottle and could be a little pricey for a daily cleaner.

Not a fan of the smell but the product works just fine to clean/polish. Food safe too!

I needed a spray cleaner that not only cleans/polishes but is safe around food, especially since I prep meals on the kitchen counter and this has checked all the boxes. The locking mechanism on the spray top is my favorite, it avoids accidental sprays.I’m not a fan of the scent but I don’t mind it since it does the work, cleaning the stains easily while still retaining the natural shine. I usually use it at the end of the day after dinner, lightly spray it on any stains & wipe with a microfiber cloth or just a quick wipe for routinely maintenance! Owing to the natural ingredients, I feel safe using it everywhere around my kitchen.

Great natural cleaner

This spray works great on my quartz countertops. The main reason I chose this product over other products is that it has natural ingredients. Other cleaners I have used in the past are not safe for food-prep areas, so that was important to me. The bottle itself is on the smaller side, but is easy to spray and provides good coverage. As others have noted, it has a strong alcohol smell. It does dissipate, but was unexpected. It did not leave streaks like other products I have tried and was easy to use. The packaging was definitely elevated and I don't mind leaving this out on my countertops, making it easy to grab and use. For a natural product, I am pleased with how well it works, but when I have dried on grime, I may need to reach for something stronger. So far, though, it works for my basic daily cleaning needs and I am happy to have found a natural product that works for me.

Cleans great!

This Rhino Wax Soapstone Cleaning Kit worked great on my granite countertops. The cleaner lifted water marks with no problem and left the surface looking polished and clean. I was impressed with how easily it removed buildup without needing much scrubbing. The included cloth is high quality and makes it easy to wipe everything down without leaving streaks or lint. I also like that the cleaner dries quickly and doesn’t leave any residue behind. It does have a slight alcohol smell when you first spray it, but that fades fast and doesn’t linger in the room. The bottle sprays evenly and the applicator helps get into corners or edges if needed. I haven’t used the scraper much yet, but it seems sturdy and well made. The kit feels like a good value considering everything that’s included. If you’re looking for something simple and effective for stone surfaces, this is definitely worth picking up.

Your Countertop's Best Friend

If you're an advocate of using only all-natural ingredients to safely clean surfaces around the home, you'll love Rhino Wax stone cleaner. It contains no harsh chemicals, so whether it's stone, marble, masonry, you will be able to remove dirt and grime for virtually any porous surface. It's fantastic on your marble or laminate countertops, and the essential oils of orange and lemon leave a fresh, pleasant scent behind.I've even used it on non-porous surfaces like chrome and stainless steel, with impressive results. All you need is a clean sponge to apply, and a microfiber cloth to buff and dry, and viola! You're done. But the real takeaway for me is that you can use it around your kitchen, where it both cleans and sanitizes, without leaving harmful chemical residue behind.

Food Safe Stone Counter Spray

I was excited to try this product because it is (1) made in the USA and (2) is food safe. No icky ingredients. Our counter tops have some areas that look "dry," and I was hoping this would help. I think it's important to call out that this spray is part of a multi-step system. I do not have the other products. It is a smaller bottle for the price.Scent: I don't really smell anything when I spray it. That's neither good nor bad. If I put my nose close to the spray, I really only get alcohol. It's just very different than using a commercial cleaner that you can smell several rooms over.Cleanability: The instructions do state to scrap off food and gunk. That's one thing I expect a cleaner to do because the color of our counters hides stuff. It does clean but takes a bit of elbow grease. Oily spots - same.I don't think this is your everyday cleaner. Maybe that's also not what they want to be But, if you are doing a monthly/quarterly/biannual deep clean, treat, seal - this would be your product line to use. Especially if you prep food directly on that surface.

Fantastic product. Does not strip the soapstone's patina.

Affordable and it works great

I have newer slate and granite countertops, and I wanna keep them looking nice in a busy household with lots of people. I was very impressed. I like that this is food safe. very easy to use. I must say a little goes a long way I feel this bottle will last a very long time. It gives my counters a wonderful clean shine and it’s nice to know that I don’t have to worry about chemicals getting into any food products placed on the counters. This is definitely worth trying for yourself. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at all. It was very affordable and it works great.

Nothing special for soapstone

There's nothing about this product is particular to cleaning soapstone. It's 8 oz. of "stone cleaner", a plastic scraper, and a dish towel. But the stone cleaner could be used on any type of stone. And probably lots of other surfaces too like glass cooktops or metal appliances. The greatest advantages of soapstone is that it's impervious to everything, so you can clean it with anything. This works fine. It doesn't seem to leave any residue and doesn't have any pronounced fragrance. It did not aggressively remove the beeswax finish on my soapstone. But at this price ($12.95 at the time of writing) it's not a good value. For soapstone, just use whatever cleaner you already have or get a cheaper generic cleaner.

Good cleaner for wiping down my countertops

This works nicely for light duty wiping down my granite countertops. (I also used it on the stainless edges of my stove and thought it did a pretty good job wiping them down as well). I did not perceive even a slight orange or lemon scent to it; it didn't have a strong smell in my opinion and if anything I'd say it smelled slightly of rubbing alcohol. I need something stronger for particularly greasy or sticky spots, but this was effective for a basic cleaning of my countertops; in fact I was really surprised to see just how much dirt was on my towel after I finished because I hadn't thought they were that dirty to start with.

It's A Nice Cleaning Set To Have, Nothing Special

We have granite countertops and usually use a common dish soap to clean them. This is a nice set. I'm not sure it gets the countertop any cleaner than the dish soap, but it does smell nice and I do like that it has isopropyl alcohol to help sanitize the counter in a way the dish soap probably can't. The scraper is convenient to have as well, but it does take up space and I don't think it has removed anything that a sponge and some elbow grease couldn't remove as well. I like that it's made in the United States. All in all, if you have a stone countertop and some extra storage space for the scraper, this is a convenient kit, and it does work well, but it's not life changing. This is a review for:Soapstone Cleaning Kit - Includes Stone Spray Cleaner, Scraper, Microfiber Cloth - Food Safe - Natural Ingredients - Safely Clean Soapstone, Slate, Granite, Quartz, Marble, Concrete - USA

Not great for dried on grime

I'm using this cleaning spray on my quartz countertops. It's easy to use and can clean up light messes or stuff that hasn't dried on to my countertops. However, I've sprayed it in several places where I can see that there was some dried on liquids and after wiping I could still see most of the grime still there. I sprayed more and really rubbed hard and eventually I was able to get it off. With other kitchen cleaners they seem to dissolve dried on grime better. On the plus side, this cleaner doesn't have all the chemicals of other cleaners. You do notice the isopropyl alcohol smell some after you spray it but the orange and lemon oil cover that someone. I'll use this for light day-to-day cleaning but I'll still need to keep a stronger cleaner around.

Nice But Not Required!

The soapstone cleaning kit makes a lovely presentation. It comes in a small box with 8 oz. of product, a scraper and a small towel. Having had soapstone, granite and marble countertops; I’m knowledgeable regarding upkeep and maintenance. Keeping the surfaces sealed is the most important step. This particular product only cleans the surface. It does not seal or wax. It’s a bonus that it’s food safe. At the current price of $16.95 for an 8 oz. spray bottle of cleanser; I can find a much more economical solution to cleaning my countertops. I would prefer to use that money to purchase the sealer.

Basic stone cleaning liquid that's food safe

I find that Rhino Wax's 8oz spray bottle of soapstone spray cleaner is a pretty solid choice for natural stone surfaces. It's reassuring that it's food-safe and made with natural ingredients, especially for kitchen use. I've used it on table top slate inlays, and it does a good job of cleaning without leaving streaks. All I needed to do was spray the stone and wipe it up with a damp cloth. The fresh orange and lemon scent is subtle and helps eliminate any lingering odors. I also happen to like any citrus aroma. I've had no issues with the spray dispenser. The price point is reasonable, but on the high end as it is a simple cleaning solution and only 8oz. Overall, I feel that it's a straightforward, effective cleaner that keeps your stone looking good without harsh chemicals.

Good value cleaner on countertop

This soapstone cleaner has been effective for both our countertop and the backsplash tiles. It cleans well and leaves a good shine, plus a subtle citrus scent. The included microfiber towel helps eliminate any streak. I like that the countertop is now clean without having to use any abrasive cleaners. For the price range of sub-$20 with accessories included, it is of good value and comparable to other brands on the market. Once the cleaner runs out, I can refill and reuse the sprayer!

This is more of a stripper to prepare for conditioning, not good on it's own

This is essentially an all purpose cleaner with a scraper(why?) and a microfiber cloth. Sure an all purpose cleaner is nice to have, you can make it yourself with some alcohol water and dish detergent. This claimed to have citrus oils, if so they are in very small amounts. It's safe for stone, like many other cleaners. I just don't really get this kit. I can see the appeal of the full kit with the cleaner conditioner and wax. Then the scraper starts to make a little more sense. I mean who doesn't like a new bench scraper, so convenient. The rag is decent waffle weave pattern microfiber. The cleaner is ok, nothing special and smells like rubbing alcohol. The cleaner is eight ounces. I used at least a quarter of it for just my kitchen island, I have granite. I generally do use a high end cleaner and conditioner kit twice a month. The in-between I just use a mild dish soap and water, as suggested by the people who installed the countertops. If you are looking at a full kit with the cleaner conditioner and wax this might be worthwhile. This cleaner is a prep type cleaner to really deep clean before applying conditioner and wax. If you use this cleaner on it's own you strip away the existing protectant and leave your stone bare and vulnerable to stains.

It's Rubbing Alcohol

I feel like an idiot... I paid almost $17 for a tiny bottle of rubbing alcohol... It's in a cheap bottle and the sprayer doesn't even work right. Ridiculous!

Cleans Soapstone the Proper Way

Until recently, I had never heard of soapstone. Then when I was working one day, a visitor pointed out that our counters were made of soapstone, something that no one at our establishment knew. We had definitely done some damage to our soapstone after five years of cleaning it with disinfectant wipes. I came across this Soapstone Cleaning Kit from Rhino Wax online and decided to try it. I love that it comes in a recyclable cardboard box and an easy-to-use sprayer. I'm guessing the scraper is for stuck-on gunk, but I used it to spread the soapstone oil (see my review for Rhino Wax Soapstone Oil). The microfiber cloth worked very well for spreading the cleaner evenly across the counter once sprayed. I appreciate the cleaner's natural ingredients and greatly prefer this to harsh chemicals. It has a pleasant, light scent that mostly disappears once the spray is wiped away, so it shouldn't be bothersome to most users. Our soapstone was definitely cleaner after using this spray and it didn't damage the surface like our usual wipes. I followed the cleaning with oil and wax to end up with a counter that looks almost like new. I recommend this easy-to-use product for cleaning stone counters without ruining their nice color.

Not a bad cleaner, but I don't like the smell

It's a good cleaner that I got to try out for a stone cutting board that I have. It worked very well to clean the stone, and the included cloth and scraper are a nice addition. My only complaint is the smell. I saw that it is advertised as made with "Plant-Based Ingredients" and "Light Citrus Scent", but to me it has a very chemically smell. I am not a fan at all of the scent. I used it on the stone and it worked well enough, but the scent is a huge turn off for me. I'll be using it as a cleaner, but probably for my outdoor patio table which has a stone top and where the smell will dissipate quickly.

Gentle spray for light cleaning

My wife says: This Soapstone Spray Cleaner - Safely Clean Soap Stone, Slate, Granite, Quartz, Marble, Concrete - Food Safe - Natural Ingredients - Fresh Orange & Lemon Scent Eliminates Odors - Made in USA is a cleaning spray for light messes. The bottle sprays a strong, fine mist and the solution doesn't have too much of a scent - more alcohol than citrus. The ingredient list is short and simple, which I appreciate, making it safe for stone surfaces. The instructions say to scrape surfaces before use and that makes sense, as there aren't harsh chemicals to dissolve stuck-on or built-up stains. Thus, this is best as a general light cleaning spray for wiping down your stone counters. It doesn't leave any sticky film or residue, leaving a clean-looking and feeling surface. Made in the USA.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I care for soapstone countertops?

Soapstone is low-maintenance but benefits from regular conditioning. Clean the surface with a gentle stone-safe cleaner, then apply soapstone oil to deepen color and even out the patina. Finish with wax to seal and protect the surface.

What does soapstone oil do?

Soapstone oil enhances the natural color of the stone and helps even out light or uneven areas. It does not permanently seal the stone but allows it to develop a rich, consistent patina over time.

Can I use soapstone oil or wax on slate or concrete?

Yes. Rhino Wax soapstone oil and wax are safe for soapstone, slate, and concrete surfaces, including countertops, sinks, and other natural stone applications.

Is Rhino Wax soapstone oil food safe?

Yes. Rhino Wax soapstone oil is made with 100% natural, plant-based ingredients and contains no mineral oil or petroleum-based products, making it safe for food-prep and kitchen surfaces when used as directed.

How do I remove water marks or light stains from soapstone?

Light marks usually fade on their own as the stone develops patina. For faster results, apply soapstone oil to even out the color, then seal with wax for added protection.
